MG MGB Technical - Expensive part number search.
Does anyone know if there is a part number for the wire retaining clip for the altenator electrical connector please? I have purchased a new plastic connector with spade terminals but it came clipless. Dave |

It might be worth giving Autosparks a call - 0115 949 7211 They list the plug and connectors, but I can't see the clip on their site. |

There is no real need for the retaining clip, the plug will stay in unless deliberately pulled out. Cheers - Dave |

Thanks Daves I think I will try to make a clip myself. I am sure I don't need one but just for looks!! Regards Dave |

The clip is part of the alternator - it is a Lucas part, not sold separately AFAIK. Try an auto electrical supplier or visit the local scrappy. |

Gents. Success, I bit the bullit and made my own. Works a treat! I don't have to but a new alternator now ;) Dave |

Hunt up a gunsmith and he will have the spring wire to make it right and the abilities to do so. Do y'all have gunsmiths over there? |
Gerry |
No guns over here. Except with the baddies. |
