MG MGB Technical - Freeze plug install.....
| Hello Gentlemen, It's been a while, Just got home from the M-East and fired up the little red car for a drive. I blew a freeze plug about two miles from home ( you know the one....behind the dizzy ). checked the archives, and found some useful info....however.....I would just like a plain description of how to install the new part.....and how to avoid the most common pitfalls. thanks as always. | The link above did not work for me, and I don't know why. I found the page as step #7 on http://www.octarine-services.co.uk/enginebuilding.htm The URL is http://www.octarine-services.co.uk/7.%20Replacing%20core%20plugs.htm which looks identical to the one posted above. Hope this helps if you have problems like I did. |

I think the problem is in the way that the hmtl handles the spaces in the link - lets try - http://www.octarine-services.co.uk/7. Replacing core plugs.htm

Nope - that doesn't work either !! Just use the first of the two links Bill shows above ...

Anyone try these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MG-MGA-MGB-GT-EXPANDING-COPPER-ENGINE-FREEZE-PLUG-SET_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33613QQihZ005QQitemZ150120372210QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V If so, how did they work out? Steve

I've had one of the copper ones in my '73 for about 5 years. The center hole just won't hold a standard plug while under some spirited driving. Wayne
