MG MGB Technical - Front end Rubber seals and brake hoses

Hay Guys,
Our "B" has been on the road for three years with about 6000 miles. During this winters lay up I discovered the rubber seals on the lower king pin through bolts are shot and worse yet the rubber brake lines have big creper cracks in them. I am not sure if they where Moss or Victoria, but three years seems poor for service time. Does anyone have a suggestion for a source for good rubber bits?
Thanks!

I use blue poly bushes and goodridge brake hoses on all my rebuilds. No problems whatsoever and they seem to last indefinately if fitted with care. Jim

Jim. You are quite fortunate. I got less than eight months on lower kingpin rubber seals. Q-H kit purchased through Moss Motors. When the bottom line is maximum profit, quality suffers.

James-
I have to agree with Jim. The Goodridge brake hoses are excellent. You can get them through Brit Tek, so click on this: http://www.brittek.com/

Goodridge steel brake hoses on mine - they're going strong 3 years after installation. Just be sure to fit them properly so the wheel doesn't rub on them at full lock, because that WILL wear them out in short order!

And poly bushes will likely outlast you, let alone the car.

Les I fully agree that the kingpin trunnion seals can have a problem with quality. The only consolation is that they are not difficult to change and if the rest of the suspension pivot bushes have a long life thats the hard /expensive bit taken care of. To date I have not found a supply of poly seals for the kingpins, lets hope some manufacturer will oblige. No such problem with the brake hoses tho, I"ve never had one fail yet. Jim
