MG MGB Technical - Joern germany 12V now complete

Hi folks, just thought I would let you see my changeover job, from two 6V to one 12V, I have positioned it ynder the bonnet easy to get to and maintain, short piece of cable to Starter switch, and short earth. I have left it as Positive earth, don't see the need to change that.

It looks like it should always have been there,

Now the good new, what to do with the empty space where the 6V were under seat, could not see the point of that, anyway looked at those plastic boxes you get, crazy price approx £27-£30 each, Went to Ikea last night picked up two waste recycle bins they sell for under the sink, £4.99 each, cut of the top 4 or 5 inches, really nice tight fit in the battery space, see pics. great for stowing things like jump leads, tow rope, tools, spares.

Hi Jørgen - good idea with the Ikea bins :)

Hello Jack,

It could be informative to have a picture of battery relocation as I never figured out were to place it.

Cheers,

Thank you George,

I haven't noticed that thread.

Nice set-up, but in N.-A. we have to relocate evaporative carbon canister which occupy right side..

I like the idea of keeping the battery lower in car -- i.e the original position....

How about a photo of your setup under the bonnet??

I have finally abandoned twin 6v batteries. The pair fitted at MG Motorsport in Bovingdon only lasted 3 years, and played up for the last one. They did not fit very well either. An 063 as often mentioned on here does not go into the battery box on a MkI car. I now have a Bosch S4 but its only 42 Ah. It cranks the car fine, most recently today at -1C.
