MG MGB Technical - MG HEAD 11G216 ???
Friend bought MOWOG cylinder head at an estate sale. Item was tagged to fit a MGB. Though similar in appearance, he isn't sure, based on casting (part) number 11G216. Can anyone I.D. this head?

Doesn't show up here:- http://www.autochart.com/MGB_Head.htm

Derek, Thanks, I know - We have the same chart and some others. That's what's got us stumped. Could it be for a MGA, perhaps?

I think (don't quote me) it is for an early MGA or _possibly_ (but not likely) a NASH Metro. Sean

The early MGA 1500 heads I have are marked 1H967. If it has a date stamp on it, it may give us a clue.

Chris, Was hoping you might pop in with the answer. I looked for a date, noticed some other marking, but nothing definitive. Posed the same question on the MGA page - no answers, but some additional information was posted that might help. ---------------------------------------------------- Posted 10 March 2007 at 16:26:36 UK time Mike, illinois I bought the same head 11G216 at a swap meet several years ago and have since dismantled it for the keepers and collars. The head has the following casting numbers 11G216/AF4, 29.1.7 (bulid date?) letter P above the build date. and the letter S cast at the rear of the head where on a mga 1500 the numbers 15 are cast.. I also would like to find out what vwhicle used this. thanks Mike ----------------------------------------------------
