MG MGB Technical - MGB GT LE originality

I have a MGB GT LE that has only done 33,000 miles from new.

I fully intend keeping the car just as it left the factory the only problem is the paint as it is now a bit faded after 40 years.

My problem is the allow wheels I would like to refurbishing the wheels on a C N C machine repaint and lacquer the wheels.

My question is does anyone know the original paint code for these wheels I know it is a light grey that all.

My second question is can you still get new grey deck chair seat covers or the grey deck chair material for the seats.

Hope you can help as I would very much like to keep the car as original as possible.

Thanks
Ian

I don't know the paint code but have a friend who knows
He looked right into it as the car he has was a factory test car and has the wheels painted the USA LE colour
The US cars had the wheels painted a slightly darker colour compared to the UK cars
If no-one else comes up with the colour in the meantime, I'll find out at the weekend -

Unlike the bodies I can't imagine manufacturers at the time were that fussed about paint codes for things like wheels, but questions on codes for things like wheels and jacks for example does come up from time to time, and all I can recollect seeing in response is something 'like' it.

Googling the covers shows nothing except statements the original deckchair covers are no longer available. Ironically my 73 roadster came to me with the grey type, probably having been recovered when they were current and the 'correct' ones weren't available. That was over 30 years ago so long gone, as are the first (black) replacements, and you wouldn't have wanted them anyway as they smelt of dog :o) Very very occasionally, NOS items of all sorts do appear, but you would be lucky.

If you have the original covers then potentially you could take it to a good upholsterer to see if they can find matching material to stitch together.

Seats do come up on eBay from time to time.

There are a few sets of orange deck chair seats at the moment, but no grey.

Here are some new seat covers. They are for a GT, so include the rears, but are quite pricey.

Might be worth keeping an eye on.
