MG MGB Technical - Need Grille for 71 B - Any Sources?

Moss, Victoria British, Roadster factory are all out of the recessed grille for the 70-72 Bs. Has anyone located a source for these?

Thanks,

Jeff

Most people in the UK have probably binned these. Brown and Gammons are showing some of the parts but not the bottom and side pieces http://www.ukmgparts.com/browse.aspx?CID=a06aab03-5ebc-49d9-a937-a6d8adfce6c1&MID=&SID=ed5db695-f701-4973-b081-2c04584174de

MGOC are showing all but the bonnet finisher http://www.mgocspares.co.uk/acatalog/MGOC_SPARES_GRILLS___RBR_BUMPER__MGB__91.html

Moss Europe are showing the bonnet finisher plus some of the other parts http://www.moss-europe.co.uk/Shop/ViewProducts.aspx?PlateIndexID=215

I actually quite like them...and I'm obviously not the only one, as some have been selling around the £50 mark on a well known internet auction site.

I'm with you Dave. I think Diane would be very disappointed if I replaced her recessed grille on her 70 B. The restoration started as a 'wire wheel conversion' and then she said "I always wanted a white car with a red interior with white piping..."

For those interested, the restoration is at my website, http://www.dbraun99.com look for the obvious link...

Warmly,

Paul/Dave - thanks so much for the responses.

I need the hood trim piece, the bottom piece and the right side piece - so, it looks as if I'll need to contact MGOC and Moss Europe.

Jeff. Why not try Bob and Gil Schaulin first? They have an MG wrecking yard in Phoenix, Az and may have the parts you need. Their telephone number is 602-415-1846 and Arizona does not go on daylight saving time.

Sorry I didn't see this sooner Jeff, but I have a complete 1971 B grill out of the B GT Scott and I are rebuilding. We replaced it with the early grill for our own reasons ( as did John Thornley in MG 1)

Am on vacation now, will contact you the end of the week.

Hi Don - if you are willing to sell that assembly, that would be fantastic. I especially need the hood finishing strip at the leading edge of the hood, the bottom finishing piece and the right side finishing piece. I would purchase the entire assembly though.

Is yours in good condition. If you are able, bring it to the meeting on Sunday and I will give you a check.

Thanks Don,

Jeff
