MG MGB Technical - OVERDRIVE

I am having difficulties in buying a spare part for my Overdrive - Oil pressure control -1800 - 37H3462.
Is there anyone that could help me?
I am in Portugal and this is for a MGB GT

Alfredo. That sounds like a factory part number, which may be a problem for people who do not own a copy of the factory parts catalog. Here in the US (and often in the UK), people use the part numbers used by Moss Motors, perhaps the largest MG parts supplier and one that has a website allowing anyone to look up the part to see what is needed.

Might you be able to supply the year of your vehicle and, if possible, the model of overdrive you have? (There were at least two different models used, on the four syncro boxes, and the boxes can be interchanged. Do not remember what the three syncro boxes used.)

In the US, there is one major rebuilder that I am aware of, something like "Quantum Engineering", but someone will be along to provide the correct name. As I remember it, from a number of years ago, they had a website. My OD tranny was rebuilt by John Twist of University Motors Ltd. John has mostly retired now, but is a good source for information and may be able to help you find the part you need.

37H3462 Is the number used by Moss too.
Problem seems to be that all usual suppliers list this valve as NCA (not currently available)......

Are you able to source a supplier of reconditioned overdrive units and see if they are willing to sell individual parts.
Just a thought.

You could try these people:-

http://www.odspares.com/

I haven’t used them, so can’t comment on their service.

Or another:-

As already mentioned, Moss Europe use the BMC/BL part numbers, unlike Moss Motors (USA).

While Moss Motors in the US use all their own part numbers Moss Europe and probably most others elsewhere use the factory part numbers.

Googling it I get loads of hits, but a quick glance indicates most show not currently available.

I'd second those suppliers/repairers Dave mentions.
