MG MGB Technical - Points distributor wiring question - 77 B

Hello all,
I've converted my '77 B to SU's and points type distributor. The car starts and runs good, but some of my dash gauges weren't working. I checked the green circuit at the fuse box - dead.

I have a white wire which has 12 volts (I have a new 12 volt coil) to coil 'plus' side.
Remaining wires are:
2 white/light green
1 white/blue
2 whire/black - (went to original ditributor from coil)

Do I need to hook up a different or additional wire at the coil 'plus' side?

I have a wiring diagram but can't seem to get it figured correctly.

Thanks in advance!
David

"I checked the green circuit at the fuse box - dead."

Did you have the ignition on when you made this check? The green wire is fused, switched power. If the gauges were operating correctly before you did your modification, then the stabilizer is probably working all right but you my have a bad connection to the fuse for the green circuit. I would suggest cleaning th efuse block and checking that all the connections are tight. Cheers - Dave

Hi Dave,
I checked the circuit at the fuse box, both sides are dead. The other end of the green circuit is white/brown. Do you know where it gets it's power? It looks like it might come from a starter relay, where ever that is.
Thanks, David
David Steverson

Your starter relay should be near the fusebox. It looks like one of those black plastic 35mm film cannisters.

Thank you gentlemen for your replies, it turns out my starter realy has a short. Of course, that part is 30 plus dollars. It's something all the time!

Get a replacement relay from NAPA. They are more reasonable in price.
