MG MGB Technical - rear bumber fillers
I've been thinking of getting new stainless rear bumper filler plates...and was wondering what is originally correct..painted or unpainted?...Thx all...

The factory left them unpainted. Don't remember off hand if they are stainless or anodized aluminum. Either way they are not mirror bright polished. HTH - Tom

The old ones from my '65 appear to be clear anodized aluminum. But definitely unpainted. They were attached after the car was painted.

Clear anodized aluminum. Aftermarket sources offer stainless, a better choice.

took 'em off, off with the paint...polished em up...they look super!...much better than painted...

I put stainless on mine, but the originals would have cleaned up OK but the aly had lost alot of weight under the lights so I just put new ones on. Unpainted is correct.
