MG MGB Technical - Refitting Dual Gauge
Hi Chaps, My dual Oil Pressure/Coolant Temp Gauge has failed, and I have removed it prior to obtaining a new one (Water Temp reading had begun to drop, and when the sender dipped in boiling water just managed to get of the 'C' mark). When I disconnected the oil pressure pipe at the back of the gauge (swine of a job) I didn't see any kind of sealing washer - I have peered through the hole and can't see anything behind the dash). I thought there was supposed to be a small leather washer at this connection - has this been superseded? I have looked through the Moss and B&G catalogues, and can't see a washer listed. Has this washer been dropped do you know, or if not, where can I get one? Car is a 71 BGT, rebuilt and converted to a V8 in a new Heritage shell a couple of years ago. Many thanks, AB

A washer for the gauge is listed on the MGOC Spares web site AHC805 http://www.mgocspares.co.uk/acatalog/mgb_instruments.html#l39 Andy

I read it as 2K4936 capillary pipe to gauge.

Allan is correct. AHC805 is the grommet where the pipe goes through the bulkhead.
