MG MGB Technical - steering rack

I have a steering rack which is an argentine unit. I do not know how to identify which model MGB that it's made to fit. any help will be welcome.

I think the only real difference were to the gearing, i.e., turns lock to lock, and the length of the shaft. I know V8's had a longer shaft than C/B, not sure about R/B. The gearing doesn't matter much, just the "slower" racks were used to reduce steering effort.

Alan. Thanks for the info.
What I need to know is how to identify rubber bumper models versus Chrome bumper models.

Sorry can't find the different lengths, but C/B racks had something just under 2 turns lock to lock, later 1977 R/B, had more.

Thanks all.
Moss Motors supplied the following info. The overall length of #453-627 rubber Bumper model is approx 27" while the chrome model #453-610 is only 23".
This is the lengths of the steering input shaft. There is a great difference in the angle of shaft to rack body.

Sandy,
it might not be the case for your Argentina steering rack but I had a brand new Argentina steering rack for my Midget and within 6 months the rubbish rubber gaiters started to perish (an MoT failure here)

the rack wasn't exactly the same as original so was more effort than it should have been to fit but did fit

it was also initially quite stiff but that soon went with use
