MG MGB Technical - Treasure Trove of Parts available...

Below is the content of a posting from another BBS about a treasure trove of new and used parts that has become available. This posting has a link to photos and an email address to contact. I do not consider this an ad for this guy (I have no idea who he is), but simply a head's up to you all that this exists. Do about it what you will.

"I just returned from the Holy Grail of MG parts and left with all the new replacement body parts including a hood, rockers, door skins and patch panels, as well as two new front lever shocks and a bunch of small hard to find stuff , all for around $200. If you are located anywhere near Newport News, Virginia you need to go through this place. What doesn't get sold is going to the scrap yard, the guy is there on sundays only, and is very fair to deal with.He even has complete cars starting at $200, here is the link: http://s72.photobucket.com/albums/i187/97vapathy/MG/
Paul's e-mail is boostedda9@yahoo.com
Please get with this guy if you are even remotely thinking about needing parts before this goldmine goes for scrap...."

Why is this sort of stuff always only in the US? Its frustrating!

Ross - "Why is this sort of stuff always only in the US? Its frustrating!" Small parts (especially like the switches you are looking for) are not real expensive to ship overseas from the US, so don't be hesitant to check on the parts you need. Cheers - Dave

Sure enough, Bob, that is the Holy Grail.

Its not the cost as much as it is the time it takes to receive them, David. I just dont want to wait so long to receive things when I know I can get them in less than a week.
Ross Kelly

Ha Ross I feel the same but im here in the US. You guys have plenty of parts and the pounds to dollars conversion is very much in your favor so I really dont think you should be viewing your cup half empty when its overflowing!

Cheers,

The parts from this shop are not available at this time. The owner of the property where this shop is located was about to sell the parts, but the parts acutally belong to the estate of the shop owner who passed away a few months ago. All sales are on hold until legal issues are settled.

Thanks, Chuck, for the update on the situation at the "holy grail". This has turned into quite a little mess.
