MG MGB Technical - v6 engine swap
does anyone know if there is a conversion kit that can be bought over the shelf to fit the ford v6 engine and box. that can be bought over the shelf.

Not that I know of, but I was recently wondering how easy it would be. I did look at the cost of granadas and scorpios on ebay, figuring it would be best to buy a complete car to get as many useful bits as possible.

thats what i was thinking can get a mot failure for a couple of £100s or so. you could even maybe go down the granada cosworth route.

This was one that I spotted http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120505882372&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Hello, I checked few years ago to fit my Scorpio engine in a B. As in Canada most of Scorpio were automatic, it is a rarity to find a 5 sp gearbox. The swap must be easy as there is a very similar swap extremely popular in America with a 60 deg GM V6+ manual transmission. Cheers, Jean G.

You should post your query on the MGB Engine Conversions part of this site. As Jean says lots of US owners have put V6s into their cars. You will find a few on this site http://www.britishv8.org/Photos-MG-Conversions.htm for example http://www.britishv8.org/MG/LeRoyBarton.htm although there aren't too may Ford conversions, mostly GM.

Hi, And the Cologne(Köln)V6 motor is a great engine with a lot of upgrades possible. JG

Whilst I would agree that the Cologne V6 is a good engine, I was led to believe that the Essex V6 was better, as it doesn't have siamesed ports.
