MG MGB Technical - wheel cylinder

Another problem! I'm fitting a rear wheel cylinder on 1975 gt but having great difficulty fitting the c clip. Is there a knack?

Use a pair of mole grips, on the axle flange, to hold the cylinder in place while you wrestle the clip into place. You can also use an E clip in place of the stock wave clip. RAY

Fitting those clips can be very trying. Have a look at Paul Hunt's article on it. http://www.mgb-stuff.org.uk/braketext.htm#eclip

There is a special tool available to do the job. I bought a pucker AP Lockheed tool many years ago.

Moss are selling one, but I'm not sure it's the real deal. A bit pricey at £21.60

Bull Motif are selling a similar looking tool for half that price

As shown in the link Mike posts, using a pair of outside circlip pliers took just seconds.
Paul Hunt

Thanks for the advice. I bought the tool Dave suggested and it was brilliant; 30 seconds a side.
