MG MGB Technical - Where to mount manual choke 1980 MGB

After reading many archives I would like to convert my ZS to Weber and Header with manual choke. I cannot find anywhere in the archives where people have mounted the manual choke on a 1980 MGB. I am considering mounting it below the dash. Any input would be appreciated.

Since I never needed to dim my dash lights, I bypassed and removed the dimmer rheostat. The resulting hole was the perfect place to mount my manual choke. Purists may object, but it looks like it's supposed to be there.
Celt

On my 1978 MGB, I put mine the same location as "Celt". Mice and sturdy location.

Reloacted the dimmer rheostat to a blanking plug on the dash.

Here's a picture of the choke location in the dash in my 1977 MGB. It's just to the right of the rheostat, and it has a brushed aluminum, 1/8" thick plate, around the pull.

Randy...That's the blanking plate that I used for the relocation of the rheostat.

I did mine like Randy except it's in the blanking plate on the right and my mounting plate is brushed stainless - it's wonderfull having an industrial laser at work! :o) Coincidentaly that's the same location the early cars had them. Mine uses the T handle choke cable as well.

Wow! People actually use their rheostats?

Thanks for the replies. I will do the same.
