MG MGF Technical - 280mm alloy bell'd front dics for sale

Hi All,
I had a great time at Silverstone last night meeting a few of you, shame about the weather, but i think everyone still had some fun with the obvious exceptions.
Stu did a fantastic job under hectic conditions.

Thanks for everyones feedback about the discs, and the interest around the 280 rear disc kit and lightweight alloy wheelnuts, both are on the way, so watch this space!

Just to let everyone know the first run of disks has come off the line and are now for sale.

The discs come with the following options;
The bells come in either black or champagne
The dics are either C Groove ticks or conventional stagered grooves.

A pair of 280mm discs are £245, and will replace any VW Corrado based Kits discs.

Or A pair of 280mm discs including the spacing brackets for the caliper, for those not already running a 280mm kit, at £395

P.S. Ask Tim just how good his 304mm AP's were last night!

Thanks again

I hope to see you all again soon

Hi again,
Just another pic
John ;-)

J E Reed

Very tasty!
Mike Cunningham

Wow! They look awsome John! Have to say, it almost doesn't matter whether they're better than standard when they look that good... shame to hide them behind the wheels! LOL ;o)
Rob Bell

Hi Mike and Rob,
They really do look the business dont they,
They are based on a Koeneggseg(?) carbon ceramic disc left lying around.
In total a bell+disc weighs under 4.6 kgs!!!
A Corrado disc weighs over 5.9 kgs!!!
God knows what an AP Disc weighs!!!
With the wheelnuts you'll save over 1.5 kgs a corner!!!

Anyway, anyone interested can email me direct.

Stainless steel anti roll bar clamps, exhaust bracket hangers and solid alloy subframe mounts next!!!

Then,
Alloy hubs with Discovery bearings and both 100mm and 94mm PCD holes, for standard and after market wheels!!!

Also, some proper lightweight 4 pot calipers with smaller diameter trailing pistons to equalize the pressure across the pad and prevent leading edge wear, yet still stiff across the bridge to prevent flex like some other manufactures stuff! Nice!!!

Also Girling style alloy single pot rear calipers...Hmmm

Anyway off to bed

PS has dave livingstone really got 2L in his F? if so how?

John :-)

Ok, one last pic

This a mockup of a 10mm thick, C Tick 280mm rear disc with the alloy calliper.
Rear 280mm Kits will be available after the weekend!!!
Again email me if you want a pair!!!

Note, no spacing ring!

John :-)

John,

Dave's F is a 1.9 Scholar block K with a DVA ported VVC head :o)

Hi Tim,

Good to finally meet at Silverstone!

Thats the spec i want!

Tho I bet its not cheap!
Is he running individual TB's or a single and plenum chamber?

Finally, any idea about the BHP figures post mods?

John
J E Reed

Dave's car is running on a standard VVC plenum with 52mm TB and believe it or not the original ECU. As far as power figures go I'm really not too sure but before the Scholar block the car was chucking out 185bhp I'm sure this has increased but I understand that the most notable improvement has been in the torque and MPG.

You assume correctly, the mod is not a cheap one, there is unlikely to be must change from £3k and that's without the DVA work. If you add all the numbers together you might find a Duratec or Honda conversion better value in the long run.

Scholar engine - £3000 was a bit optimistic...

Sorry about the wait folks,
The web site is still under construction! how hard are they to make!

New found respect to Rob for his site!!!

I will try and get some sets up on Ebay with buy it now buttons!
Ive also had a very small run of the alloy wheelnuts made, these will retail at £75.

on another note,
my clutch is slipping,
I was going to use it as an excuse to fit an uprated one and a lighter flywheel.
can anyone recommend either parts,
lastly, elise parts sell a lighter alloy pulley wheel, has anyone fitted one?

Hope everyones ok and enjoying the last of summer! Boo!
John :-)

J E Reed

AP racing clutch. I've also got a lightweight flywheel which I bought off here some many moons ago... I believe this to be AP too.

Not had an email through yet John?
