MG MGF Technical - Aircon not working

For some reason the aircon in my wife's TF has stopped working. The symptoms are:
1. Aircon switch light comes on when selected.
2. Air doesn't chill at all.
3. It doesn't sound like the compressor is kicking in - there used to be a suttle relay like click when it kicked in.

I've checked the compressor fuse under the bonnet and that's fine.

Where should I look next? The car has previously had problems with the drain pipe draining into the passenger footwell so the system is a little bit suspect anyway. Is there a sensor in the drain system that would stop the compressor kicking in?

Thanks.
JH

JH. May I ask a silly question ?? Do you have the fan switched on and working ??
Wet footwell !!! The lip valve on the bottom of the drain pipe blocked. There is no "Flood Switch"

No idea, but if you like to check for the relay click.
I's located just beside the bonnet fuse box.

Big black relay with I think a 9 position connector.

Check the system for gas.
If the system is not used at least once a week (even in winter) the gas seems to escape over time.
Use the heater and A/C together and this will dehumidify the air and you wont have foged up windows when it rains.

I think there's some sort of lubricant injected with the gas to keep all the seals supple. If it's not used then the seals will dry out and leak.

I have the same problem but the garage says that it's the condenser unit at the front of the radiator which gets stone chips and corodes. After regassing it lasts a few months. You can have it regassed and a UV check to see if there are any leaks.
