MG MGF Technical - Alloy Wheels

Hi Guys

Anyone any help with this one.
I have a 98 MGF and on the "darkside" want to change the VVC alloys for something shiny. I have been looking at some Team Dynamics Monza 17". Also someone on (dont know whether to say it) (Oh OK) pistonheads, is selling an MGF my year, my colour, with these fitted & looks great. So will fitting 17" wheels give me any problems with ride height, turning the wheels etc ?

Thanks in advance

Mike

Get 17"s with the right width (7J IIRC) and offset, and you'll have no problems with them :o)

Have a chat with Mike Satur - he's got a good amount of experience with these larger wheel sizes on the MGF and TF - and may have some alternative styles to pique your fancy! :o)

Thanks for the reply Rob

Trawled through the websites and found some stuff on Dieters website regarding wheel & tyres.

Seems to show the 17"x7J wheel&tyres setup I am after are only 10mm more in diameter. So would look and fit OK. The lad from the MGOC said he thought it would affect ride comfort, less tyre wall, although they dont recommend 17" sets. The ET is 15 on these sets as apposed to 35 on standard wheels.
See what you think they look like the ZT wheels rover did. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/largepic.asp?i=155722&noPics=6¤t=2&make=MG&model=MGF

Ride properties are likely to change - whether they'll be significantly worse is debateable as a lot will depend on tyre choice and pressures used... Quite a few owners have used this option, and I believe that the vast majority are happy with them :o)

Rob,
What does IIRC stand for ? Keep seeing it mentioned but cannot for the life of me work out what it means !
