MG MGF Technical - Blobs on rear window

My rear window looks as though it is being invaded by dirty brown splodges. Each between 1mm and 2-3cm and gradually covering more of the screen.

It was clear and cleaned with the BMW stuff 3 months ago, but the BMW stuff does not shift this light brown stain. As far as I can tell, the brown stuff is on the outside (feels slightly different in texture)and a little raised, but rubbing with back of nail has no impact. Archives are not specific enough...anyone got a clue?

thanks

LOL, Steve, if you'd know how much B.. is inside that car ;)

Whatg is meaned with 'splodges' ?
Anyway, I found such a mad brown couloured section also at my cars rear screen when I bought it. Location where it folds.
No idea where it came from, but I know that my car was stored for more then 1 1/2 years anywere before I _rescued_ it.
It had all the time the hardtop on and the rear plastic screen was NOT unzipped screen.

May be there was something similar with yours ?

The brown crap disappeared from alone after about 2 month in sunny wheather.

It sounds like something has been spilt on your car and attacked the plastic, discolouring it and making it swell slightly. I suggest you just clean with water and soap for a while and see if the contaminant clears. If you use cleaners/polishes etc who knows what chemical effect it may have when mixed with this 'splodge'.

Only thing i can think of other than a chemical reaction of some kind is lichens.

But i doubt if they would fancy the rear screen as a home!

Maybe it's going rusty? ;-)
