MG MGF Technical - Brake Disc Change?

Can anyone give me any tips on removing the two screws retaining the brake disc? I'm going to replace / upgrade mine shortly - I took one of the front wheels off yesterday and tested the screws. They seem very tight, possibly seized. Just thought I would seek advice before using brute force!
M Clayton

usual solution is an impact driver and a very good fitting bit. If that fails you may have to drill the heads off.
Tony

Use an impact driver, when that fails and you round the heads off use a drill, the wheel studs centre the disc and the screws are just there to ease assembly.

There will be more brute force required to get the discs off, I found that tapping the studs thru with a hammer made things easier to shift around (pull them back into place using the wheelnuts).

Thanks, I hadn't thought about the discs themselves being seized too but that would make sense. If you do drill off the heads, can you then unscrew what's left or is it a re-thread job - Or do you leave them off altogether?
M Clayton

You could leave them off it won't make any difference.
P Allcock

just leave them off
