MG MGF Technical - Broken Rear Screen Zip - HELP needed

The zip on my rear screen has started to part in places (the "tab" came off the zip head quite a while ago) and have looked in the archives for any help with the problem.
There are suggestions for replacing the entire zip ( quoted at 280 quid from a dealer in the archives! !) and also for replacing the zip head.
I was wondering if anyone out there has successfully repaired a zip or replaced the zip "head", what size is required & where can I source one from ? ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Phil

Phil,
Give Sonia a call on 02088939747 / 07904893460,
she is well recommended.

She is in Twickenham, w.London unfortunately but she will did your screen and zipper, or send you a zipper.

I believe the entire kit is £75.00 mail order, £125.00 and she will do it, she also does them at weekends.

Phil, Sonia will replace the zip head, the full zip or the screen or any combo of the three. She takes about 1.5 hours on a Saturday morning to replace full screen.

Thanks for the advice chaps, have been in touch with Sonia today and she is supplying a new zip "slider" with fitting instructions for £5, so hopefully this will cure the problem without the need for a costly replacement zip or entire rear screen.
I'll let you know how I get on with fitting it in due course.
Once again Thanks for the point in the right direction,
Phil :o)

Phil, why waste £5?;-) Mike.

Hi Phil

When this happened on my car the dealer had a replacement 'grabby thing' fitted that lasted less than a week.

Since then I have fitted a pair of split rings, such as are used for keyrings, and a small carabiner faster as a 'grabby thing'. No more problems.
