As ever, good information. Thanks for sharing.

That is very good info and scary at the same time.

The corrosion will go on regardless of what type of materials due to the way the return currents go thru the car.
A separate heavy ground return cable from the negative battery connection all the way back to the generator or at least to the engine block minimises this.
I think there is some info at Dieters site how I did it some years ago when I first found out about radiator corrosion on the "Green Frog". No more accelerating "white powder"-corrosion on the radiator lower part after this alteration !

Yep, working for me now.

I just grounded my car on a nasty bump on a country lane, having seen your photos I'll get out and get under.

Corrosion, corrosion. I've just had to make three patch panels and weld then in on my daughters car. Inner and outer wing behind the drivers door, aaargh. It is a bit of rust bucket(1996 1.8i)but it's had a hard life. This looks like the result of a less than adequate repair in the past. The car has been resprayed in the past and a couple of accident repairs on top so matching the paint has been at trial. I hope it turns out close, I'm going to spray it tomorrow.

If this is a problem use a jubilee clip around the pipes and through the bracket as picture.
