MG MGF Technical - Cam belt timing

Can anybody confirm the cam belt timing alingment for my Trophy - VVC. I thought I had put it back together as original, but the engine runs very rough. Aligned the botttom pulley at 90 BTDC, locked the cam shaft pulleys with a tool with marks inwards - however the rear pulley marks are one inside and one outside?? is that right? The manual doesnt make it very clear. Could be be something else of course - first time rebuild.

Thank you Dieter, the rear belt is the extact opposite to what the manual says, is this particular to the trophy or VVC model? It makes sense because the exhust cam being solid obviously cant change.

Sounds as though the rear VVC cam is 180degrees out.

Sounds like it could be the rear cam timing as above.
Howvere, if not, another place to check is that the two VVC solenoid control plugs haven't been interchanged. If they are inadvertently swapped, the cams get maximum duration at idle and revert to minimum at speed, causing all sorts of confusion to the engine.
Hard to pick if you haven't met it before, easy to fix.

It was the Rear VVC Cam 180 deg out, wipped the rear cam belt off and set it right, Runs very well now. It goes like stink, the gradual loss of power must have been building up, even though the gaket hadnt gone completely. I also took the chance of re routing the rear air intake to the air box. The Pipe now is in the side vent. I also removed the diameter restricting end nozel (As I have from the front pipe)so lots of air to the Piper pannel filter - a bit noisier on acceleration but noticbly better on pick up.
Thank you your help Guys.
