MG MGF Technical - Cat Straight Through Pipe??

Hello,

any of you guys know where I can get a cat straight through pipe from?

Plus any ideas where I can get a maintanance manual from?

Why do you want a cat bypass Mike? If for extra power, forget it - we found practically no gain in replacing the standard cat with a straight-through tube (see http://www.mgf.ultimatemg.com/catalysts.htm)

If for noise, then go for it by all means. Mike Satur is your man, as are Brown and Gammons.

Not sure that a dedicated maintenance manual exists - although MG Rover will set you a Workshop manual. This seems to cover most things and includes a great deal of useful technical information.

I can't remember the part number off hand - this you'll find in the archive.

There's one on http://www.ebay.co.uk - search for "MGF"

It's not all about noise and bhp's...
The car will run a bit cooler, in that way that the convertor stores heat as well (to do its function properly) and IMO the car runs/revs better.

just my 2 pence.

I have a motobuild cat bypass on Scarlet (one of only 2 Motobuild mods).

It does the job and makes the exhaust sound superb.

Cat Bypass rocks. Go for it. It may not improve power figures much but the better driveability and improved "Note" is worth the effort. I think it will also make your mid range torque figures a bit better, enough to notice an improvement.
