MG MGF Technical - Clock Light??

The light has gone out on my clock - does anyone know how to change???
Robert

Assuming you have an F not a TF, then the clock that I have in front of me has a simple push fit bulb holder on the back. The bulb is a little pea type - even 10 years ago I could have read what it says but you are on your own for that part.

Pull the vents out of the dash (easy really) and just reach inside.
JohnP

Better to prise out the vents from top and bottom using a blunt/smooth butter knife or flat plastic disposable knife or thin wooden spatular.
That way you don't stand the risk of snapping any of the delicate vent grills.

Branko

Quite right Branko. It's a piece of pi$$ the second time when you know how.

What time is it in Victoria at mo? Are you just going to or returning from the pub?
JohnP

Hi John,

it's 10:46 PM and I've just knocked back a couple small gottles, arr I mean bottles...of a nice Stout. Poor Mans Guinness LOL.

Cheers :-)
Branko.

Does the above information apply to the oil/engine temperature guage aswell? Also my temp never goes above 70, is that normal?

Cheers

Ben

The info that I had a clock in front of me on the desk does not apply to the temperature guage.

Can't see on the CD how the oil guage is illuminated. But I seem to remeber you have to remove the centre console to get at it. SF is a better man to describe that. or look on his rebuild site, specifically The Rebuild http://www.sfforever.co.uk/default.asp?sid=47762341289822821038520050418185206074

Ben,

Looks like the same info for oil temp gauge as well.

Yes Normal, as long as its' below 150 degrees it should be OK.

Branko.

You can reach your clock and oiltemp also trough the radio gap. The clock has a 12 v 1.2-1.4 w bulb with a metal bajonet fitting and can be pulled back out of the clock.
The oil temp has an all glas bulb (12v 1.2 w) and has to be twisted before jou pull it out (1/5 turn or 70 degrees)

HI,
This is a great mod.
Swap the time clock and the Oil temp gauge around.
(Parallex error, and all that.....)
And when they're both out , put new bulbs in them..
