MG MGF Technical - DIY Garage..?

Whilst lying on very cold concrete under my jacked up car last weekend it occured to me that there must be a market for a place which offers the Car DIYer a chance to use proper car lifts and jacks, hoist etc... Do such places exist (specifically in the London area) or should I invest in an industrial unit and market the idea. Insurance would be an interesting issue, have to get them to sign indemnity forms.....

I did read about such a facility in the United States a long time ago.

It would be a great idea for a franchise!

You could even have a "Handy Andy" type of guy to help out if things got tricky - or an extra pair of hands needed.

Count me in when you are looking for one in Aberdeen.

They did exist and there was one just round the corner from me UNFORTUNATELY they had to close as the insurance premiums went sky high after a couple of clowns injured themselves and then got Mr Ambulance-Chaser of the the firm of Solicitors Chaser-Ambulance-and-UpYouJack to sue the garage for some astonomical sum, which they won even though there was a lot of doubt over whos fault it was.

Tim, there might be an industrial unit in Brixton that happens to have a rolling road built in the floor coming free soon... ;o)

There again, perhaps Dave has sold it already?

Don't either the MG Owners club or MG Car Club have one. I'm sure I've seen it the magazine?

MGCC do not, although many members have pretty well-equipped facilities :-) MGOC have their own workshops, run as a conventional business AFAIK. There's an easy solution to the cold garage floor - just how many skips have you driven past and seen piles of perfectly usable carpet in there? Do your bit for recycling :-)

Hadn't Halfords used to offer the use of their facilities in this way ??

Do any of the Belgian F'ers know of any such place in or around Brussels (or anywhere else in Belgium for that matter...)?
