MG MGF Technical - Engine noise on start-up
| Just a quick one ... every time I start up in the morning (cold) I get a noise coming from the front area of the engine, I firstly thought it was the alternator drive belt slipping which the garage tightened, but the noise is still there. after a few revs though it dissapears and is ok all day then ...help please cos its doing me head in :-( Thanks |

| If you thought the noise was the alternator belt I assume the noise is a squeal. Had the same thing on my daughters car, 100K plus miles. Squealed for about a minute or less. The squeal turned out to be the cam belt tensioner, which disintegrated. Result, replacement engine. Ignore it at your peril. |
