MG MGF Technical - EPAS Override update

I've been looking into doing this mod having tried driving my car with the EPAS fuse removed but it's a pain continually fitting/removing the fuse.

Will Munns had a detailed "how to" which I can understand and probably follow without too much of a problem.

However, Will suggests using a Maplin sourced relay QC58N which is no longer available. Can anyone who understands these mysterious relay thingy's suggest a suitable 5amp alternative from the Maplin catalogue?

I started looking through the relays available but suffered brain fade in ten seconds flat as I don't know really what I'm looking for.

Thanks in advance.

N08AW will work just fine

Thanks Will, I was hoping you would be lurking.

I've bought the relay you recommended but I notice the pins are numbered 1-8 and not 1,4,5,8,9,12,13,& 14 as per your how to. Am I right in assuming that other than the numbering the pin positions/functions are the same and I can simply substitute position for position?

Thanks

the relay in the picture is also available in 4-pole versions, hence the strange numbers.

The coil is connected to pins 13/14, it doesn't matter which way around these are connected. In this relay 9 and 12 are the common pins (the big circles in the diagram)

Will Munns

I really ought to to have answered your question.
Yes, the pin layout should be the same.
