MG MGF Technical - HARD TOP REAR DEMISTER MGF 1999 LIMITED ADDITION

we have soft and hard top rear window has a demister on it.
how do we connect this up? are cable located in the car some place to connect too.

also how do we go about getting a workshop manuel for this car?
GEOFF

Geoff, welcome aboard!

Regarding the demister, the wiring loom is all in place. You'll find the rear wiring tucked under the parcel shelf carpet - pull it put and root around for it - it's over on the left side. If you don't have the switch, then you will need to order both a switch and the relay - fitting kits are available (B&G had some I think?)

Regarding workshop manuals, both the MGF Register (http://www.mgfregister.org/) and Rimmer Bros sell these - costing between £28-30 + P&P.

Hope this helps

Hi Rob thanks for your help

Geoff
To give an idea of costs, I recently paid just under 12 GBP for the switch and relay from a "main Dealer" both the items were on 24 order.
There are several jokers on E-Bay asking 20 GBP for the same?

Try www.mgfcentre.com, www.ukmgparts.com and www.rimmerbros.co.uk

Mike Satur at www.mikesatur.co.uk would be worth trying too.

All these companies advertise on this site :o)

The other thing to remember is that the rear screen heater will only work with the engine running. It's not enough just to turn the ignition on.

Try:-

info@edgars.co.uk

I'd imagine they simply use x-part for their parts supply, so you could try them direct?
All the wiring you need is there already, it's simply a case of plugging the relay into the spare socket on the fuse board & fitting the switch into a blank on the dash. Only problem will be if you order mk1 stuff for a mk2/TF or vice versa.
