MG MGF Technical - Heater vents removal

Could someone tell how i get all 3 heater vents out of my MGF dashboard? I got my hands on some new ones as one of mine is damaged. Cheers in advance for replies.

They should just pull out Paul - have a look through the archives for a more detailed procedure. The vents on my car don't release that easily. I've not really looked into why - but I wonder whether its because my car is a 1995 build? Probably not!

They certainly just pull out - I've not taken the side ones out but the central one is shaped such that you actually need to pull out and up at the same time.

The center one pulls out as well, use a screwdriver carefully at the bottom to help.

The manual suggest you have to get behind them first to release the clips holding the air vents in. The passenger side one via the glove box (needs removing), the central one via the central console (or just with radio out) and left one from behind the fuse box cover. I found, all of mine lifted out if you helped them with a screw driver as previously suggested. There are two clips on each side of the side vents and two top and bottom on the central one that hold the vents in.

I managed to get the vents out with a blunt kitchen knive as leverage. Did'nt want to use screwdriver in case of damage to dash. Thanks for all replies
