MG MGF Technical - HELP! LOWERD CAR. NOW WHAT DO I DO ABOUT TRACKING?

Hi all. I have lowerd my mgf to what looks and feels better to me. I have been to get the tracking redone but no luck. They need to know what to set it at? As it is now, the tracking is 4 deg toe in. Please can you help.
I have fitted 205/40-17 front and rear.
The measherment from the center of the wheel to the top of the arch is 14".
Thank you. Paul...

Hi Paul,

IIRC, your settings sound fine. Should be between 0 deg and 10 deg toe in. May want to get it set to 10 deg, but I think 4 deg sounds fine.

Paul,

Min and Max specs for the tracking are:

Front : toe out 4 deg min toe in 16 deg max
Rear : toe in 2 deg min toe in 17 deg max.

The really important thing is that it's balanced, and make sure the rears are Ok. I know of two people who's rear wheels were steering to the kerb when they had the tracking checked.

Are you on the standard NTC3's, as other tyres aren't so ruthless with these settings.

All this talk about degrees will have your tyre treads looking at each other!!!

MGF toe angles are set in minutes not degrees!! I do suggest checking the data as it should be minutes. Up to 10mins total toe in for bth sides, i.e. 5 mins per side is about ideal. This of course applies to lowered cars as the original Rover settings provide for a small amount of toe out.

I have had a look at the archives! (now i'm confused) My new tyres are Avon's ZZ3's.
205/40-17. Front & Rear. Very good so far in the dry and are ment to be good in the wet. The tread patern is like F1s.
