I checked the dip stick before driving just yesterday.NO MAYO !NEVER HAD ANY TEMPERATURE RISE OR INDICATION,OR WATER LEAK !!!!! Is this really possible.I did tackle the and they say it is about to happen and I have been lucky !!!!!!!VERY SUSPISCIOUS DUE TO MANY COMMENTS AROUND THIS DEALER.PLEASE ...ANY ADVICE IF YOU CAN AS THEY HAVE MY CAR !!!!!!
HELP !
Adam

sorry to see you in a bit of a state Adam,Calm down a bit before you have an hgf yourself, firstly ask the mechanics where the coolant leak is exactly, then get to explain exactly what they mean in more detail, tell them before any poss work carried out you want to have a word with the guys on here first, as far as the hood goes i know a place not to far from you in Blackwood who will replace screen and does a pucker job, my friend has just had hers done and she says it,s better than before and was only about £60, if your interested in that bit i can ring her and get address for you ,cheers for now Dave T6 DCM.

BEWARE PROFESSIONALS ....... ALWAYS get at least one 2nd opinion. You know it makes sense. Plus there's always the "They all do that Sir" mentality to avoid ...... like the plague! Whenever you hear that or something similar .... on your way.

BTW, who serviced your car last and when?
John McFeely

Oh my god, Mega the Honda driver and MG Rover hater is hanging around here now.

Thanks guys for all the advice....one in particular!!!!
The car was serviced by the same dealer less than six months ago...and told 100% fine !!!!!! I have done 22,000 miles since new, and frankly feel very suspiscious of all this work.I was told the new window would take a day to fit...so placed the thread for advice....all the work was done before I could stop it...so caught hook line and sinker for the cost....I will definitely be in touch before anything like this again.........and for the cynics...I HAVE HAD YEARS OF TRULY WONDERFUL DRIVING FROM THIS CAR, AND MANY GREAT MEMORIES .....If you are so cynical about MG ownership why do you still own one...GO BUY A TIN CAN LIKE A SAD MX5!!!! ?!?!?!?!?

I just got my F back from the MGR dealer last week, it cost £430 to fix the HGF....£700 seems steep to me, unless there was other damage. Anyway ive sold it now as its too unreliable. For MGR to have so many HGF occurances in this model and not do anything about it is outrageous.
Mine was 2 years old and well looked after. If youve not had HGF, BEWARE......
