MG MGF Technical - Humming

Does anyone else's TF Hum?
Even when I havn't used the car for 24 hours, if I lift the boot (Engine Cover) I can hear a hum. I thought at first it was pressure in the fuel tank, but taking the petrol cap off doesn't help. Any ideas?

btw its an '02 135

when you first get to the car after a long wait (10 mins?) turn on the ignition (but dont start the engine), do you get the hum for 3 or so seconds? if so then it's the fuel pump, and they all do that sir.

Can't imagine why it would hum when you haven't turned the ignition on for 24 hours. Try removing the fuses one at a time to see if the hum ceases. Let us know!

Went up the local MGR dealer. HAd a listen to a couple of other cars (MGF & TF) and they hum as well!!! Seems to be quite common.
