MG MGF Technical - I have difficulty in closing the window

My passenger window comes down normaly but go back up very slowly. It even stops sometimes in the middle.
At the moment when it stops, I can hear a squeak.
It's like the motor has difficulty in raising the window, as if something was too tighten, which leads it to stop anywhere while coming up. I put grease everywhere I can see parts moving (rails, etc) but it didn't solve the problem. Is the motor dead? In that case why can I lower the window so easily? Is a screw too tighten somewhere which prevent it to lift the window?
Jerome

I've not had this problem Jerome, so difficult to advise. Perhaps the thing to do is remove the door trim and check the window guide channels and the guides that run within them.

Check the switch. Try swapping the window switch over with the drivers side one ot see if it cures the problem. I had exactly the same experience. The passenger switch has to cope with the full load of the motor but (on mine) the driver side switch only has to feed the one-shot module, so doesn't suffer for the same problem.

If it is the switch, you can pry it apart and clean the contacts but watch out for the spring pinging out.

Eventually I'll fit a relay into the passenger side window circuit to curethe problem.

Thanks Keith.
When you say "switch", do you mean the "button" we press to raise or lower the window (sorry for my slow English understanding but I haven't been praticing the BBS for a long time LOL!)

Hi,

Yes the button to raise and lower the window. You can swap the drivers and passengers over by removing the small panels (the ones with the footwell interior lights on) and pushing the switches out from behind.

OK, I will try as you say thanks!
Jerome

I swapped the switches but nothing changed.
Passenger's window still very very slow to raise ...
What can be the next step after the switch?
Any kind of relay or something?
