MG MGF Technical - Inlet manifold flashings????

I've got hold of a 2nd inlet manifold so I can remove the inner flashings and swop it with the one on mine. I've had a look at it but I cant see where these flashings are.

Can anyone help!
Bob Millar

I've got a few pictures of the inside of the inlet manifold that was supplied as part of the Race Speed 140 kit. That has according to their web site "Next we fit a re-worked inlet manifold which again greatly enhances the ability to get cold air to the engine - and boosts torque impressively." and it works a treat.

The pic are not brill, but better than nothing.

Could you send them to

YHM - 490, 491 and 492 compare the origional with the race speed modified version.

Any chance of sending me the pictures too?
AdrianS

Steve, I'd love to see these too! I can host them on the website for all to see if you'd like?
Rob Bell

Rob, If you will host them that would be great. They are at work along with your email address so I will send you then (7)tomorrow along with some commentary if thats OK.
Steve Ratledge

Thanks for the mail Steve. I see what they have done. It's hard to make out inside the manifold but I can see some very slight bit's of flange in the one I have.

I also see they have opened out the ports as well although there doesnt look like much room for error there and there isnt much left at some points as well!
Bob Millar

The main area for deburring is rather more internal. Where the two halves of the plenum are bonded together, a nasty flange can often be found. So look further inside the chamber (from the head side) and all should become clear.
