This is a popular spot for water ingress. Can I sugest that you register on the BBS (it's feee) and then get access to the full Archive. There will be loads or hits under searches like Leak, Window Leak, Cheater (the name of the black triangle) etc.

As a start you may like to look on http://members.aol.com/apttony/Servicing/GlassAdjust.html

Also try Tony's MGF Maintenance Page http://members.aol.com/apttony/

Hope this helps.

Please register and PLEASE come back with comments on usefullness or otherwise of any tips you follow from the BBS.

Fixed mine.

Bought 2 meter length of tubing from B&Q.
(In garden section, for ponds.)

It's just under 10mmm in diameter.

Shoved this down exisiting drainage channel.
(hole at each side at the top of windscreen).

Not had any problems since.

Cannot find anything under those listings, what is this tubing ie; solid or flexable, and how dose it stop the leak.

hi colin,

the problem with mine, is that the window cheater (the black triangle) had been incorrectly positoned, and was squashing the the drainage channel.

this prevented the water draining away, and either poured out just about the window cheater, or in heavy rain, built up so much, and leaked out of the top, resulting in a wet drivers seat.

The tubing was soft flexible clear rubber tubing. but had enough rigidity to be forced without too much assistance down the existing drainage channel.

(the material of the tubing was about .5mm thick.)

Colin,

You can also use windscreen washer tubes from Halfords.

Colin, an archive search for cheeter cheater cheatah (consider that most F owners cannot spell or cannot be bothered how they spell) will provide at least 50 hits.

These are from the first 5 hits that appear:
