MG MGF Technical - Leaking in badly!!!

Hi all, just wondering if you can help me. My better half has a 1996 MGF VVCi which leaks in constantly from the seals at the top front of both passanger and drivers side windows. You can see a gap between the windows and the seals. Even when you sit in the car with the doors closed and lower then raise the windows there is still a gap. Is there anyway to 'toe in' the windows or any way to make the seals protrude out more? Any help would be much appreciated as it rains all the time up here in Cumbria and I'm sick of sitting on wet seats!!

(This also happens with her hard top only not as bad)

Thanks,

David

Could also be indicative of a failed window stop David - plenty in the archives about this - and I suspect that Dieter has more info on his site too. In any case, the instructions on Tony's site will prove very useful!

Cheers for the replys, Tony your threads are excellent and just what I was looking for. Should be able to get it sorted now and keep the other half happy!!

Thanks again,

Mine leaks in around the inside electric mirror covers... then down the door, over the speaker grilles (hmmm.... water and electricity... nice) and then all over the carpet..

Got any ideas on how to solve this problem...

Chris.

Yes Chris I also have this problem, it happens on both doors but not every time

Chris,
<<mine leaks in around the inside electric mirror covers>>.
I had the same both sides. I fixed them by inserting a 50 cm strip of soft rubber in the seal that runs up by the the windsceen where the water seeps through. Use a
drop of Evostick to hold it in place.
This mod. has the effect of pushing the existing seal harder against the mirror cover.
All the best
