MG MGF Technical - Lowering knuckles

Where's the best place to buy them from and how much are they
c Gray

B&G and Mike Satur both sell lowering knuckles. 100 quid a set before fitting IIRC.

An alternative is to go for the Techspeed method which is rather similar to the way that MG lowered the Trophy 160 - more details here: http://www.mgf.ultimatemg.com/group2/suspension/hydragas.htm

Thanks mate

Personally I would go for the techspeed method as it keeps the std knuckles which are much better then the lowered versions as it allows more movement and so far I have had 2 lowering knuckles fall apart with 1 being costly due to needing a new wishbone as a part had broken in the wishbone.

This was when I found the difference between the 2 versions on knuckles as Techspeed showed me when they where fixing the car. If only I had it properly lowered by them in the first place rather than lowering knuckles fitted before going there.

At the end of the day it is down to your own preference on who does the work as the B&G, MS version are easy to buy and any garage with a hydrogas pump can fit them. However the Techspeed method is only available at techspeed and it is there skill which make the job as good as it is.

So with an on board pump you can have active hydrolastic suspension? That should start a debate.

My F is there in a couple of weeks for the Tech-Speed treatment. :-)

Nope, this is known technic from Metro Racers and a DE company _tries_ the same. The address is written in the MGF Register Ed. 1 issue.
However, for sure this is more then *plug and play*. Case of skills !! :) Never heard of complaints about the TechSpeed methode.

I think you are new to this board ? You can find some of in the archives from 1999.

Dieter K.

Shouldn't that be "Active Hydragas"? A missed opportunity - sadly redolent of the decline of BMC/BL/ARG/Rover Group - no development money. But the system has potential to become "active"... perhaps you ought to have a chat with Sir Alex Moulton?

Not so new

I found isolated comments about Lotus and Citroen but no debate. I just wondered if anyone had made an attempt at it.

>perhaps you ought to have a chat with Sir Alex Moulton?
Rob, when was he knighted, I thought it was Dr. Alex Moulton.
K Waring

Dr Alex Moulton

Clearly the prions at work again! DOCTOR Alex Moulton LOL :o)
Rob Bell

But you're right he deserves a knighthood.
If everyone persists with 'Sir' maybe that will make it happen.
