MG MGF Technical - MGF : Positive or Negative Trigger input ?

Hi all
I need to know if my (ours) MGF 1998 is with the Positive or with the Negative Trigger input.
i did read somewhere that Dieter said "The only niggle was that this module need (+) Signals from the window switch and the MGF Switches do (-)"
does it means that the MGF is Negative Trigger input ?
sorry for this question but i'm not an electronician.
Thanks for helping me again and thanks for Rob and the others for the last reply with my last questions.
best regards

Me too, isn't.
I don't recall exactly, but the orange wire _from_ the alarm ECU does positive Trigger to i.e. aftermarket one shot module. This Trigger gives the signal to close the window when you lock the car with the alarm blip. No idea whether yours has this.

>"The only niggle was that this module need (+) Signals from the window switch and the MGF Switches do (-)"

This was for the MGF up/down window switches. They switch to ground (negative input to the module) and my sourced module required positive input.

You have got (from sales text)
------------------
Window Closure or Rollup module for two electric windows
Positive Trigger input
For Positive or Negative lifting windows (*)
-----------------------------
(*) Relay output, so anyway
-----------------------------
Description doesn't make clear which trigger they reffer to. I fear it may be the same problem as I had.
:(

Hope this makes sense.
Good luck with it and please get back with your report.

Cheers
Dieter
PS. I'll be off for hols until next year. Please email.

MEMS aways switches to ground - as do the window switches as I recall pascandrea.

What are you attempting to fit?

Changing a +ve going pulse to a -ve going is dead easy with a mosfet. If you find you have trouble where the signals are the wrong way round then I'll tell you how.

hi Rob
thanks again for your help
i would like to install the one shot system and i found
a "Gemini 2244 Window Closure/Rollup Module for 2 Windows", who is made for the "Positive Trigger input"(http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Gemini-2244-Window-Closure-Rollup-Module-for-2-Windows_W0QQitemZ8023182216QQcategoryZ75329QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem and with the same seller, he has an other brand who make the same but who is for the "Negative Trigger input"(http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Window-Closure-Rollup-Module-for-2-Windows_W0QQitemZ8022714542QQcategoryZ75329QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem), so i am lost now, i know that on the BBS you said everything about that, but what i found was very cheap (10gbp), and dieter in is webpage spoke about the gemini 2344, so now you know what i want to do.
best regards

IMO these are modules to wind the all the door windows up (triggered by a signal from the alarm).
It's not a "one shot up/down" module.

Look in the archive for "DEI 530T". It's a module that I had fitted to my F and that does all this : one shot up/down (with security) + "both windows up" triggered by the alarm ECU (IIRC, I only had to put a serial diode).
This module can be set for negative or positive control.

Will, wouldn't a simple n-p-n transistor do the job?

pascandrea, try searching for the company's website and see whether you can obtain installation instructions. I have had a quick look, but haven't had much success so far... But for 10 quid, it is worth a punt (although it looks as though this seller has been trying to shift these things all year!)
