MG MGF Technical - MGF Bootlid
When the badge is removed from an MGF bootlid is there a recess behind it or just a locating hole and an otherwise flat panel? Does anybody know offhand. Thanks David

Hi David, There is no recess. However, there are two locating holes (right and left) into which pegs on the rear of the badge clip. I have had my badge stolen twice, and am hoping not to see those two little locating holes again any time soon! Rgds Stu

Rob Just playing with some ideas. I've got my hands on an SVR badge and was wondering whether I could replace the boot badge. I was also looking to change the colour of the SVR badge from silver to black. Any ideas how I could do this and make it a permanent colour change? This change to black follows a theme I'm looking at for the car as a whole before anyone thinks I've lost the plot completely. David

Sounds good David. What material is the badge manufactured from? Could it be anodised black if made of alloy?

It's very flexible so must be plastic of some kind. David

Other than painting, I am not sure what else to suggest?

I managed to scratch off the blue from a Ford badge from behind and then paint it to match the red of the car. It looked pretty good. You might be able to do something similar?!
