MG MGF Technical - MGF Clutch repair cost

any one know how much I can expect to pay for a replacment clutch to my MGF VVC 2002. Burnt out over weekend and is sitting in MG Rover Garage.

'bout £350 + vat specialist fit or if in a MG garage £550+ vat

I was told the whole rear subframe has to be dropped to get the gearbox away from the engine to get to the clutch ? If this is true then I don't think 350 pounds would cover the work.

mike (non-member) knows a fair bit about MGF servicing & repair & how much it costs.

It was about £700 at my dealer (unfortunately)

For interest Peter, was that incl or + VAT?

£550 + VAT = £646

Also, as we know, MGR dealers work from a labour time menu but charge differing labour rates. One hour extra labour can easily add £80 or more to a bill.

Yes, that was a bit over £700 including VAT.
