MG MGF Technical - Mgf engine swap mad?!
Evening all, only just joined the site and slowly finding my way around it, looks great though! Only had my first mgf four week ago and loving it ! One problem, always been used to performance turbo vehicles so this is a little slow, has anyone or does anyone know if it's possible to change the engine for the 2lt turbo unit out of a rover 620 ??? Oh yes I'm nuts!! But what a car it would make ;);) advice be appreciated cheers ;))

Give it more power and you will need bigger wheels, tyres and brakes = money! That said there has been a conversion using a KV6 2.5 engine, but what's the point? Sell it and buy a Boxster S instead. TH

Lots of ideas if you google 'mgf turbo';-)

Looked into nitrous but running a garage I also see the damage it can do to engines even when it's set up right! Still fancy a Turbo ;))

I've run nitrous on my TF for the last 5 years. If it damages engines then it is either a crappy American system with generic solenoids or it is NOT set up correctly.
