MG MGF Technical - MGF Power steering

Any knowledge / help on power steering.
The power steering on my yr200 MGF has failed. Fluid O/K but no power assistance.
I have booked it in to the Sinclares at Gallows Corner for a health check.
Any help on how much of an ooch this is and if any re-conditiond parts available locally if you can advise.
Could it be a s simple as the power steering belt?

Thanks

The MGF power steering is electronic - no fluids, no belts BUT it does have an enormous great big fuse under the bonnet - I suggest that you check that before spending money with garages.

BTW join the BBS club - completely free - then you can search the archives wher you will find pages and pages on EPAS and anything else you may need to know.

Thanks for that
Do not know what I checked then.
No wonder there was no fluid on the floor
Will check as soon as the rain stops

Fingers crossed it is that simple

The fuse was not blown, but must have jumped out of the contact

Thanks one and all, especially Ted. I know what an active club this is and you have all assisted with problems in the passed

The EPAS can be quite touchy. I had a poorly balanced front wheel which jiggled the steering column for a couple of days. This led to the EPAS switching off for a few days. Rebalanced wheel and EPAS is back on!

i had an approved aa car mechanic disconnect the cable for power steering. He went off told me had fixed everything. I went off the petrol station forecourt and realised i couldnt steer properly - very unresponsive.

gota proper aa dude to reset and reconnect the system.

should have taken them to court could have caused me serious woe if i had to turn quickly due to traffic.
