MG MGF Technical - MGF VVC Rain leaking in passenger side but no gap?

Just rained heavy on my pride and joy for the first since ive owend it,,,AND ITS VERY WET! Water streamed down inside of passenger window over the door speaker into the footwell.I cant find a gap but wondered if its a common fault with a common cure.:(

I get a little leakage behind the drivers seat. I think it is coming from where the hood attaches to the back of the car. But it isn't a lot. Could you sit in it while someone uses a watering can with a sprinkler on that door and look for the leak. If it is between the door glass and hood then as a starter open the door, lower the window then raise it then shut the door. That will reseat the door glass against the hood rubber seal. Does the hood look like it is in reasonable condition?

I need to make sure my hood is central when refitting otherwise I will possibly get a leak at the drivers side. I always have to pull the hood slightly towards the drivers side when fitting.

AH! thats a good idea, useing a watering can to check! I think ive found the cause though, theres a rubber seal around the windscreen surround (A pillar) it drains the rain away but its compressed around the door mirror mount! stopping the flow of water, gonna try to put a thin piece of plastic tubeing in there to force it open,THANX for advice though:)

OK hope that sorts it out, sounds like an easy fix. I'll check that seal on mine.

Its supposedly a common wear n tear thing on 8year + .Not the end of the world.

Just had a good look and its a rubber seal around the top part of the wing mirror(split)where the window fits into the wind deflector, causes a pretty major leak down the door into the speaker.
