MG MGF Technical - MGF Servicing

Can anyone recommend a GOOD garage situated in or within a reasonable distance of North Kent ??
Rod Sawyer

Does anyone know of a good service garage in the Reading area?

Have reviewed the archives and Tech-Speed Motorsport has some good recommendations (this is a possibility as my daughter lives in Lemmington Spa) but somewhere closer would be better (if of similar quality).

Does anyone have experience of Evens Halshaw Reading?

Try the MG Dealer Guide...

Also home of the F'ers Gallery and MGF/TF FAQ. :)

Paul's dealer guide is a superb resource - but only as good as the information that people up date it with - so with this in mind, keep Paul updated with your dealership experiences!!! :o)

Thanks.
Looks like Tech-Speed is still my best bet.

TG

Tech-Speed is definitely your best bet. Do it!
Dave Livingstone

There are very few people with Tech-speeds' experience TG, in fact people/firms of this calibre can be counted on one hand.

From Berkshire you are central to three of them, who you choose is entirely up to you.

Motobuild are in Slough
Brown and Gammons are further afield in Baldock
Techspeed, as you know, are in Eathorpe

All three are specialists and have good to excellent reputations. I have used B+G and Motobuild for parts, but cannot comment on thier servicing as i have no direct experience. One thing i will say though is that B+G are the only independant who are certified by MGR to work on thier cars and therefore can carry out servicing works without affecting the MGR warrantee (if you still have one).

Another shout for Techspeed from me. Very good service indeed.

Car is currently at Techspeed being serviced! LOL
Spotted Alan leaving as I turned up too...

True Rob. Good guys there. Enthusiasts all which makes a huge difference. Alan

Recently took my '96 VVC on a 150 mile round trip to B&G for servicing. No problem with the service and the price is good too. Friendly bunch of guys (though I have to say verging on slightly patronising occasionally) and there are some very nice cars and toys to look at in the showroom!

I have to use Evans Halshaw as my car is still under the 3 year warranty (I have not had any problems with them and they fixed my hgf within a day).
A friend at work (owns older MGF) uses SUMMIT MOTORS MG CENTRE
Unit 2 Furze Platt Industrial Estate, Off St Peters Road, Maidenhead, Berks, SL6 7QU
http://www.summitmg.co.uk/

Tel: 01628 629707 / 636001 Fax: 01628 580291 and recons that they are very good (they are also on the MG Owners Club list of recommended suppliers).

Now we've sorted Kent, any advice for Cheshire/South Manchester?
p withington

P, I am looking for one in the same area either cheshire or manchester.

I don't trust the dealer in Warrington, have heard bad reports, so looking elsewhere. Yet to find anyone good though!

Barbers in Northwich are worth a look.

Bodyshop - Terry and team excellent
Parts - Andrew is brilliant
Service - er....seem to be able to do it ok but a bit user unfriendly if you know what I mean. Front of house needs a course on customer care in my opinion!

>Now we've sorted Kent
Have we? As far as I can see all the responses related to Berkshire.

I think the answer to your question, Rod, is no.
