MG MGF Technical - MGTF Spare Wheel question

Hi, i am in the process of purchasing a MGTF 53 reg and it has no spare wheel! Please could anyone tell me if this is normal for MGTF's?????
I would really appreciate it if anyone can shed some light on this!

ThanksYou

Hi Rosie,

I think you missed the historic MG board subject.
That's on *T Series TD-TF*, button 'Jump to' on top right of this site.

Here is MGTF make year 2001 :)
(and this comes of course without spare wheel)

Rosie,

I'm afraid so, both my brother and I bought TF last year from the same dealer and his had a spare and mine a can of tyre sealant. Would however say that a spare is needed, last puncture was so bad, the spary wouldn't seal (lost two tyres already, doesn't figure, on my last car, used the spare twice in 6 years and now had two new tyres in 7 months!!).

been curious about the TF 1953 setup and looked up.

I think it must have a spare.

Bought a TF135 in April and had the optional spare wheel instead of the foam spray. Personally I prefer a spare wheel - I am exposed enough when I ride the motorbike and can't see the point in feeling the same when I am in the car.

Dieter...53 in this case refers to the numbering sytem on the registration plate, and not the year! Confusing isn't it?:-)

John P,
In 46 years of biking i never had a puncture that stopped me getting home and have now ditched the spare from the MGF permant.Space for lots of luggage there!. Got a can of puncture sealant + a BMW motorcycle repair kit and unless a complete blowout will get me home from anywhere. Glad you enjoyed Silverstone, been there today ,weather a bit naff but good meet, but only 15 mins from home so no probs for me

Apology for the mad error. Confusing systems of course. :)

I get my coat ;)
