MG MGF Technical - MS Boxer Hoops - great!

Last night I fitted some lovely Mike Satur Boxer hoops.
Drilled the T-bar myself, chipped everything out.., worked out what the instructions, etc..

I was so please with myself until I went to screw the seat belt escutcheons back it and noticed the screws rotate forever!!

OK. So I've basically left off those metal bracket things that I found on the floor..
Where do they go? Which way round?
Neil H

They go behind the Tbar, the screws are self tappers, the bottom of the U goes against the Tbar (and the screws go thru the holes ;-p)

D'oh...
so to get to that I have to undo the three t-bar screws, remove the carpet and insulation, un-bolt the four angle-bracket to hoop screws, remove the m8 and m6 hoop screws, remove the hoops, lift the t-bar, put the brackets in place and reverse the process...
D'OH!!!

Yep, you could have worked out yourself exactly how to do it by simply working out which would be the place most lightly to have you taking the whole thing apart !

You might just get away with undoing the screws, levering the tbar off the studs and sliding it up the roll hoops, but I haven't looked at the setup in detail

I can't swear on here.. so I won't..
I tell you, those things aren't easy to fit.., especially under a street lamp!

I can imagine that you felt moderately annoyed to find that the backing piece was missing...
Rob Bell

"Moderately annoyed"...
Something like that, yeah!!

Hmmm! I see.. that's exactly the metal piece I found on the floor last night!

At the time I was just plain old angry and not worth talking to.. Now.., well, I can't get over how the MGF's were made to have roll-hoops.., they look great!
