MG MGF Technical - My wheels need cleaning
I managed to clean my "MGF" wheels using those green dish washy things. With a bit of "elbow grease" and soapy water there slightly abrasive. They removed my streaky black brake runs from last winter and didn't effect the wheel lacour. Try a little bit first youll be suprised then send me £5 !!!!! only joking :) o--o |

I use Wonder Wheels. Marvellous stuff. Just brush it on and the brake dust just runs off. Once every two months. :¬) Bruce |

Autoglym Clean wheels, spray on wash off two minutes per wheel, unless ur as manic about the wheels as me and take each of them off to do the 'flip' side :) Mark R945 VKJ |

Got to agree, 'Wonder Wheels' is the "mutts nuts". Buy it. |

Agree with all the comments about Wonder Wheels, excellent stuff. However I've got another vehicle (non MG - its a Truimph) thats just had a set of refurbished alloys fitted. The alloy is unlacquered which looks fantastic when it's clean - a pure turned aluminum finish, but I guess it could be a problem with aluminium corrosion once it gets some brake dust on, so they'll need cleaning very often. Does anyone have any suggestions regarding cleaning unlacquered alloys? Adrian |

I found that a green dish washing spongy thing will actually remove the paint finish on the inside of an MGF alloy. It might be OK on the outside surface which is better laquered, but I wouldn't recommend it for the inside surface. Petrol seems to be the only thing which removes tar deposits easily.
