MG MGF Technical - One shot ECU wiring...Help

Help needed please.

I've got a one shot ECU from Victoria, MGF Centre. I've got my wiring diagram, from mgf.ultimatemg.com, but they don't match!

Wires on the ECU are as follows
Pin 2 Grey / Black
Pin 4 Grey / Pink
Pin 5 Black
Pin 6 Brown / Yellow
Pin 7 Grey / Blue
Pin 9 Grey / White

Have I got the wrong ECU?

Thanks

All the colours/wires appear to be correct for that ECU except for No 6= Slate/Green which is the feed from Fuse No 4 (15Amps) under the dash.

Thanks Bruce,

the ECU wires don't quite tally with the instructions I got from the (Robs?) link

http://www.mgf.ultimatemg.com/DIY/one_shot_window/index.htm

Black OK
Grey / White OK
Grey / Blue OK

but that still leaves me Brown/Yellow, Grey/Black & Grey/Pink?

Richard,

The ECU I got from Victoria matched Rob's website perfectly.

Originally, Rob had an error on his site concerning the connections between the ECU wires, the switch and the harness wires, but I think he has corrected this. In any case it was an incorrect connection not an incorrect colour.

Rob's away in the US right now, but should be back in circulation this weekend I think. Hopefully, he can confirm that the website has been updated.

I'm afraid none of this explains the colour coding on the ECU that you have.

Cheers Guys,
I have just spoken to Victoria who thinks it's out of a newer F, hence the diffs. She going to sort me out.
thanks

Richard,

I have an ECU from an early MY2K F with a part of the loom still attached (there is a pic on the SOS site, but i'm not sure how much of the wiring (colours) you can see - doesn't look like you can see enough anyway).

The pic is here:

This is where it is mounted in an F/TF:

I can have a look at it tonight when i get home if you want and pass on the wiring positions on the multiplug (draw a sketch maybe and Email it over).

Let me know if this'll help OK?

Cheers Andy,

I'll wait and see what Victoria can do, to save you from pulling up the carpet,

This is interesting Richard - the wiring colours are indeed different: I wonder if this ECU is from a TF?

I need to have a look at a suitable wiring diagram, but there is no reason to suspect that this unit is unsuitable. If the slate grey with green tracer is the power line, then the others could be easily be connected up as a matter of 'trial and error' without fear of doing anything 'bad' :o)

Let us know how you get on, and any more details on the ECU you have so I can update my website for others' info :o)

Cheers
